You Will Definitely Leave Your Heart in San Francisco

The song "I Left My Heart in San Francisco" tells of someone who fell in love in this city but had to leave. Thus, leaving his love in San Francisco. But to most people, the city is easy to fall in love with. Its ambience and people are things to be cherished. Despite the hectic pace of the city, San Francisco is definitely a go-to place in America.
The Bay Bridge and the Golden Gate Bridge are two of the main entry points to the city from the different cities in the Bay Area (places bounded by the San Francisco Bay). But the Golden Gate Bridge is the icon that is identifiable to San Francisco. A photo with the said bridge on the background is a must.
The Market Street is on famous street in San Francisco which leads to the Fisherman's Wharf. Other San Francisco streets are as picturesque as the others. The long and winding roads of the city add personality. The streets are well planned that you will appreciate every nook and cranny there is to explore.
The Union Square is one area where you can find the best hotels in the city as well as big-named department stores and fashion brands. It is one place where people converge for a leisurely people-watching, chit-chatting or simply feed the birds that are aplenty.
Yes, San Francisco is a modern city having those different new structures of hotels and other establishments. But some have opted to maintain old structures that have been utilized as business spaces and hotels as well. Somehow, maintaining such buildings give San Francisco its own vibe.
Sailing and whale-watching are but some of the leisure activities that you can do in San Francisco. The vastness of the San Francisco Bay makes it conducive for such activities. Hotels and resorts offer these to tourists.
Of course, a visit to the city will not be complete without going to Chinatown. As in any other Chinatown, it offers a lot of food for those who like oriental menu. There are also the usual souvenir items of the city.
Whether in Chinatown or in other areas of San Francisco, restaurants and food stalls are always everywhere for you to choose from. High-end restaurants, regular fast food fare and fruit stalls can be found in every corner of the city.
Whatever is the purpose of your trip, you will definitely leave your heart in San Francisco...a city that doesn't sleep yet you find comfort and ease.

Panglao, Bohol is Next

For some, Panglao is just another town in Bohol which is often visited by local and foreign tourists because of its beautiful beaches. But do not be deceived by this place. It is going to be the next important destination in the province.
The recently-opened Bohol-Panglao International Airport is now the gateway to Bohol. Its resort-like structure is equipped with solar roofs that generate electricity to the whole complex. Of course, it also has modern features that can already receive multiple airplanes even from international destinations.
Panglao is known for its beaches but the most popular is the Alona Beach where resorts and hotels have mushroomed through the years. It is said that it was named as such from a Filipino actress in the 70s with the same name because she frequented the place and was a regular habitue since day one that she set foot on the beach.
Its waters is teeming with marine life which benefit the locals and tourists. It is surrounded by vast seas from all over the Visayas region. I just hope that over-tourism will not spoil nature which is at its pristine best.
Activities such as dolphin-watching and snorkeling are some that tourists also go to in Panglao. The clean and clear sea is enticing and exciting. Other leisure and fun recreations are also offered by other resorts.
Hotels and resorts abound in Panglao. From the middle range up to the most expensive are there for tourists to choose from. Prices range from the most practical up to the lavish depending on one's budget and preference.
Since the opening of the new airport, commercial establishments have opened in the different areas of the municipality. With vast lands and space, there is more that Panglao can offer its visitors. Fast food restaurants and fine dining ones are open for everyone. Other businesses such as banks, souvenir stores, money changing establishments, services and others can already be found there.
One thing that I liked from my recent visit to Panglao was the serenity that I felt for 2 nights and 3 days. It was an escape from the maddening Metro Manila atmosphere. It was a retreat that I truly enjoyed.

London From My Point of View

London is the capital and the largest city of England and the United Kingdom. It is a city by the Thames River which is the main estuary of England. It is one city where rain is a daily occurrence. They say that the city is gloomy but, for me, it is as bright as it can be. When the sun is up, the beauty of London comes to fore.
For me, one of the best places to go to in the city is Oxford Street where you can shop until you drop. This is where you can find retail stores which are both expensive and inexpensive. Strolling in the whole stretch will take you one day to explore. Anyway, with just a short train ride, Oxford Street is easy to go back to.
The Westminster Abbey and the London Museum of Natural History are but some of the attractions that every must visit. With the efficient layout of the city, these London landmarks are easy to visit even by just walking.
The Buckingham Palace is also a must-see in London. When our group visited the place, tourists from around the world flocked to get a glimpse of Queen Elizabeth's London residence.  Just a stone's throw away from the palace is the Queen Victoria Memorial which is also jampacked with tourists.
Others worth going to in London is the Big Ben and the statue of British great Sir Winston Churchill which are both in the vicinity of the Parliament. Traversing through the streets of the area makes you feel that you are inside a museum.
London will not be London if you will not see modern architecture that is solely British. From the pavilion that I visited in the Shanghai World Expo 2010 up to my visits to London, I was in awe with the geniuses of the British people. From the mall interiors and even in restaurants, British ingenuity is very evident.
Londoners love to eat and drink. Whether it be their staple fish and chips or other delicacies, they troop to eating places. Food markets are all over so that you can choose whatever food you want. Of course, there are the usual fine dining restaurants that are scattered all over the city.
One thing that makes London distinct from other European cities is the architecture of its buildings and, basically, the atmosphere of the city. Yes, it may seem gloomy because it rains there most of the time, but the city structures make it look lively.
The city is a mixture of the old and the new. But both co-exist harmoniously. It is a place where the rich and the not-so-rich can live together without discrimination. It has its own character the only the Londoners can exhibit.
Yes, London is fourteen hours away from the Philippines but you should visit the city at least once in your lifetime. Different atmosphere. Different culture. Different Experience. That is London from my point of view.
