HAPPY NEW YEAR AND HAPPY NEW WORLD 2021!

What happened in 2020 are learnings that we should remember for the rest of our lives. It was during this lifetime that a pandemic ravaged the world. It seemed that time stood still. Suddenly, we became afraid to wander. Paranoia set in. The virus ruled our minds and lifestyle. For some people, it was an unexpected year. Nobody was prepared for what has befallen mankind.

Personally, it was a time for reflection. We may have enjoyed the things that the world has offered us. We enjoyed to the point that we felt we were invincible. We thought that the world was really ours. Little did we realize that through the journey of our material-driven life, we really abused what nature offered to us. We became so selfish that we thought we can do anything that our heart desired.

Nature fought back. It unleashed a virus that we did not expect to affect us all. The abuses that man has inflicted on nature has come back. We have become victims of our own wrong-doings. And now, we are made to realize to go back to basics.

I am not blaming anyone for what has become of the world. We all did our share in the degradation of the relationship between man and nature. With the new year, we are again given time to reflect and make amends so that we can go back to our ways as changed and better people. Sometimes, lessons have to be learned the hard way.

Despite of everything, I wish everyone a new year full of hope for a better environment. I wish everyone good health away from the ravages of Covid-19. I pray to God that we clean our hearts in bringing to fore a better human race.

Let's us have a prosperous 2021 and may this year give us better world for everyone.

MERRY CHRISTMAS 2020!

The year 2020 will be a memorable year for everyone. It is the year that time stood still. A pandemic broke loose and the world suddenly stopped. Many want the year to end already for it has brought misfortunes and sufferings to people. Economies are in near-collapse, the number of those who got infected by the corona virus rise until this writing. Everyone lived in fear.

But there are things that we also should be thankful for. Our families have become closer. There was a worldwide realization that things should be simpler. Nature has to be taken cared of properly. Going back to basics is a feat that we could have never achieved if we continued with our old ways.

There is a lot to be thankful for but we should not forget those who have lost their battle with the Covid-19 virus. As we see the light at the end of the tunnel, let us remember them with fondness and be thankful to those who worked to save the lives of the lucky ones - our frontliners.

Despite of the year that was, I believe that there is still a reason to be merry. Personally, I look forward to a better Christmas 2021. God bless humankind!

MERRY CHRISTMAS 2020!

Why I Still Blog...

It has been more than 5 years since I registered with Blogspot to document my travels to different places here in the Philippines as well as in other countries. My work as a fashion director has brought me around the country and the world. Then, it dawned upon me that blogging is a good way to exercise my mind and hone my writing skills that I did in college. The God-given gift of scribbling and a good eye for details made me realize that I can publish my own works (write-ups and photos) online without paying for a publisher. And it is for the world to read and see.

Many naysayers say that blogging is passe and the new thing now is vlogging. I beg to disagree! I can posts my Youtube videos in this site and still be able to write about my travels. Some of the pictures I use for my blogs are my own. Some, I borrow from their rightful owners and credit them at the end of each blog.

These days, we can all do what we want to do as long as we don't step on other people's toes. Do what we are good at. Do what makes us happy. Since my student days, writing has been a part of happiness. It helps me release my inner thoughts and share to those who want to read them. Personally, it gives me a sense of fulfillment that I was able to publish my works with much ease and with expansive exposure. The wonders of internet...

To all my friends who share their precious time by reading my blogs, THANK YOU! To those who watch my vlogs, THANK YOU! To those who feel bored with my blogs, THANK YOU! I just have a great sense of gratitude knowing that people still click and read/watch.

Nothing can stop me. I will blog and vlog to my heart's desire. I will keep on enjoying what I do and share my thoughts to those who appreciate my write-ups and videos. To those who have been supporting my Blogspot site, I hope you won't get tired in clicking. I didn't know that I can earn from all these. THANK YOU for the support!
